Traditional songs in Yiddish, such as "Tumbalalaika", where a young man wants his beloved to solve a riddle,
are as much a part of our repertoire as the cheerful instrumental pieces of Klezmer. "Yidl mitn fidl" and "Bay mir bistu sheyn" are from the pen of Jewish American composers,
while the "Loyf mayn tayer ferdele", sung in Yiddish, is a Russian evergreen from the thirties of the 20th century.

In addition to lifelike and lively melodies, there are also touching songs from the Shoah period such as "Oyfn pripetshik",
"Papirosn" or "Oy, bruderl lekhaim".

The CD is completed by Israeli songs such as "Toda Al Kol" and "Na 'ama", spiritual music, which poeticly deals with religion and philosophy.

Whether cheerful, mystical, or melancholic, the Jewish soul- di yiddishe neshome - is evident in all these songs, only shown in different ways .
